Particle & Volume Sim

This is a project in progress.

The goal of this personal project is to learn particle and volume simulation and recreate the scene from Napoleon.

Modeling and Layout

Geometry and camera was first blocked out in Maya. Then, it was imported to Houdini and built detailed environment using the blocked alembic cache.

Cannon animation

Cannon model was downloaded from turbosquid, with few adjustments done in Maya, it was broken down to different sections according to how the cannon is moved. 

[In Progress] Adding sparks using particle simulation

Adding sparks to the cannon motion using particle simulation.

There's two kinds of sparks currently, the one that is narrow and goes further and the one that spreads around the starting point as the cannon ball scratches the cannon.
